Smokin Sausage con Pasta by Jenna

this is for four but of course we did it for 10 :)

4 ounces uncooked angel hair pasta
1/2 pound reduced-fat smoked sausage
2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
2 garlic cloves, minced
4 1/2 teaspoons minced fresh basil
1 tablespoon olive or canola oil
1 cup julienned, seeded, plum tomatoes
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper

optional: we had a side of pasta sauce heated up just in case; the bolder tastes are better without the sauce but are still good with it in

Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large nonstick skillet, saute the sausage, mushrooms, garlic and basil in oil until mushrooms are tender. Drain pasta; add to the sausage mixture. Add the tomatoes, salt and pepper; toss gently. Heat through.
