Sweet Hawaiian Dinner Rolls

These are the most delicious dinner rolls. Soft, moist, and a little sweet, these rolls are great! I ate 3 in one sitting at Easter Dinner! Ooopps! These remind me of the Kings Hawaiian Bread bought at Delis in Walmart, Costco, ect. (But better of course cause you put your own hard work into them.) I think I will make this recipes for every holiday to come. I halved the recipe.

6 cups plain flour
3 eggs
2 cups pineapple juice
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teas. ginger
1 teas. vanilla
2 pkg. yeast
1 stick real butter
-Beat eggs
-Add pineapple juice, sugar, ginger, vanilla and melted
butter to the beaten eggs
-Put 3 cups flour in a large mixing bowl. Add egg mixture
and stir until well mixed.
-Sprinkle in yeast, 1 package at a time
mixing well. (If you have bulk yeast, this recipe needs 4 1/2 teaspoon)
-Gradually add other 3 cups flour. Batter will be hard
to mix with spoon.
-Make sure it's mixed well so no dry flour is showing.
-Leave batter in bowl and cover with cloth. The dough will look sticky and almost like you did something wrong. Don't worry, just cover and place in warm place.
-Let rise 1 hour.
-Remove from bowl and knead in 1/2 cup flour.
-Knead about 10 times. give or take.....don't be too rough with it.
-With a knife, cut off lil chunks and make gulf size balls placing them in
greased pan(s).
-Make sure pan is greased on bottom and sides both.
-Keep in mind that these will rise again, therefor space accordingly.
-While rolling lil balls, keep a lil flour handing to pat fingers and palms in if dough starts sticking to hands.
-Cover and place in warm place and let rise about 1 hour.
-Bake at 350 degrees 15 to 20 minutes.
-Take out of oven and rub tops with butter
-Remove from pan and set on rack to cool a little.
-Rolls should pop right out of pan. :)
-Store in air tight bag if there are left overs.

  2. Yum! I love the Kings Hawaiian Bread so I'm eager to try the homemade kind.

    But about the ginger, do you mean fresh ginger (minced...?) or ground ginger?
