Sweet Bourbon Chicken

Sweet Bourbon Chicken

Sweet Bourbon Chicken
This is a great way to mix it up a little. There is a tropical like taste to somewhat reminded me of something I would have ate in Hawaii.

1 Pound Chicken thigh meat cut in bite size chunks
4 oz Soy sauce
1/2 cup Brown sugar
1/2 tsp. Garlic powder
1 tsp. Powdered ginger
2 tbs. Minced onion
1/2 cup Bourbon Whiskey
2 tbs. White wine

Mix all the marinade ingredients except white wine, and pour over chicken pieces in a bowl.
Cover and refrigerate (stirring often) for several hours (best overnight).
Bake chicken at 350 for one hour in a single layer, basting every
10 minutes. Remove chicken. Scrape pan juices with all the brown bits into a frying pan.
Heat, and add 2 Tbs. white wine. Stir and add chicken.
Cook for 1 minute
Serve over rice

  1. Can't help but appreciate that one would actually need to purchase an amount of both wine AND whiskey far in excess of what the recipe calls for...

  2. I have been looking for a Bourbon chicken recipe and none of the ones I've try my kids like, this one looks promising, will definitely try.
