Flavorful Green Bean Side Dish with a Hint of Smokiness



Flavorful Green Bean Side Dish with a Hint of Smokiness


Ingredients

1 can of green beans drained

3/4 cup chopped onion

2 large cloves of garlic minced

fresh ground pepper to taste

2 tbl margrine

1/4 cup of swanson reduced sodium beef broth

4 slices of smoked turkey bacon cut in lil bits ( I made sure to check on my bacon packaging that the bacon was fully cooked when smoked.)

Directions

Sautee onions, garlic, and black pepper in butter for about 2 minutes

Add turkey bacon. Stir frequently. Keep lid on to obtain moisture. Keep cooking till onions and garlic are transparent.


Once onion is transparent, add 1/4 cup beef broth.

Keep lid on and simmer slowly for 10 min


Open lid and dump in green beans. Stir.

Replace lid and let cook 5 more minutes.


Stir right before serving.

  1. little different than plain old cook the frozen ones till they thaw. Do you think this would work as well with frozen beans
